On 30th November 2024, we had the incredible opportunity to organize and participate in a CSR grooming event at Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital, where we offered essential grooming services to both male and female psychiatric patients. It was a day that was not just about haircuts or nail care, but about making individuals feel seen, valued, and empowered.

Throughout the day, our team provided a range of grooming services, including professional haircuts, hairstyling, and nail care. These services, often taken for granted, became a significant part of enhancing the patients' well-being, fostering a sense of dignity, and helping them reconnect with their self-esteem.

The reactions were nothing short of heartwarming. Many patients expressed how refreshing it was to receive personal care in such a positive and compassionate environment. Several shared how a fresh hairstyle or a simple manicure made them feel more confident and cared for, which is crucial for individuals going through mental health challenges. It was a reminder of the importance of self-care and how it can contribute to improved mental health.

This event was a powerful reminder that even small acts of kindness can have a profound impact. The gratitude from the patients, as well as the warm smiles exchanged, underscored the positive effects of self-care on mental health. It was moving to witness their transformation—not just physically, but in their confidence and morale.
